Fatty Crab Delivery Review [2nd]

I've just ordered from Fatty Crab again! This is crazy 2 days in a row! Something was wrong with the online ordering so I tried ordering by calling 1300-222-100. A lady picked up the call and this is roughly how the conversation went:

Service

Lady : Hello... Fatty Crab!!!

Me : Hello.. I would like to order Salted Egg Crab and Mantou.

Lady : Okay. Anything else?

Me : No. That's all.

Lady : Is this your first time ordering?

Me : No, I ordered from internet yesterday. Actually just now I tried to order from the internet also but I kept clicking next the date and time section it keeps saying "Later available between 5:15 PM and 11:30 PM"

Lady : Oh.. I think the website got problem again HAAHAHAHAHA.. oh ya May I know your name?

Me : [Name censored]

Lady : When do you want it to be delivered?

Me : As soon as possible please

Lady : As soon as possible ar? wait ah let me check what is your area

Me : Bandar Sunway

Lady : OOOHHHHH yes yes! how was the crab yesterday? Was it well cracked?

Me : *excited* ohhh! you remember me! yes! it was well cracked just that at the pincers the the bottom part was not cracked so it was hard to get the meat.

Lady : ohh okay okay... I'll tell my staff later.

Me : Oh ya I wanna pay by CC

Lady : Okay! The crab will be delivered as soon as possible in about 45 minutes because it is raining here. It's 16:15 now so give me time, will reach there about 17:00 or 17:15 is it okay?

Me : Sure, no problem!

Lady : Thank you!

Wow... This is probably the friendliest delivery service I've ever tried. Casual, spontaneous, cheerful.. I like it! They showed the effort to cater to customer's needs and asked for improvements needed. I'm very impressed!

Fatty Crab Delivery Review

WARNING: NON HALAL

I've been craving for crabs again! So today I made up my mind and ordered Butter Crab and Prawn Otak Otak from Fatty Crab. I was given two choices to order; online and call service. I chose to try online. There will be a "real-time update" which means it's happening now and I'm updating as I'm waiting for my crab.

Excellent service. Fast, friendly, flexible, organized, the most amazing thing is I can even use debit card (not just credit card or cash) on the spot to pay! The food came in good quality plastic containers and even microwavable.

Do you notice that the picture is a little "hazy" compared to the next picture. This is because the crab is so hot it's smoky.

Portion/Size

Crab: The crab is big and very meaty. Just as it says in the website, about 550-580 grams. I did not take picture of the body (the white part under carapace). That part contains BIG CHUNKS OF CRAB MEAT! Love it! So much that I didn't manage to finish the whole crab by myself! Even the legs are bigger than average crabs I have no problem extracting the meat. I'll save the leftover for later. The crab is very well cracked I don't even need crab spoon or fork or cracker.

Compare the size of the spoon and pincer!

Otak Otak: Comes in approximate size of 6 x 11 cm and 1cm++ thickness. Don't forget, plenty of prawns and spices!

Taste

Butter Crab: The sauce is slighty thick with strong butter taste and smell with a touch of saltiness. The flesh of the crab is springy and a little sweet. From the taste you can tell that it's fresh. Just if the flesh doesn't stick to the shell so much.

Otak Otak: The otak otak was good. If you have sensitive tongue I will not recommend this because it IS spicy but not unbearable. It has plenty of prawns in it!

Price

Crab RM40.80

Otak otak RM15.80

Subtotal RM56.60

Taxes RM 3.40

Total RM60.00

The price is still expensive to me but it is a reasonable price for the size, taste and quality for both food and service.

Drawbacks

• I ordered butter crab. Naturally, it comes in "sauce" which drips all over you fingers and splatter on your shirt or face. It's inevitable! If don't want the mess then I'll recommend ordering something dry such as grilled crab, steamed crab or whatever that comes without sauce.
• The meat sticks on the shell. I said I didn't need crab spoon, but it doesn't hurt to prepare one so that you can scrape the meat.Stick on the shel;.

However, the drawbacks has little to do with Fatty Crab as they did not force me do order butter crab when I can order other "dry" crabs. Also, I'm not a food or crab expert so I don't really know why does the meat stick on the shell though it's a common problem.

Will I Order Again?

Durians from Jusco

Today I went to my tutorial class as usual... no actually I went to the wrong tutorial class and sat there for the whole one hour because it's of the same subject. Then I went to Sunway Pyramid with Silvia to shop for groceries; durians, a pack of milo and PalmOlive body soap.

50% so I only paid for RM20

Silvia bought them in the evening for RM28 (30% discount) =(

When I bit the thin skin that wraps the flesh... the creamy flesh burst out! They were very sweet, soft and creamy! It was heaven for few minutes <3

Will I buy again?

Yes but not so soon. Quite expensive you know.

35mm Underwater Camera Short Review

Price: RM29.90

Today I bought a 35mm Underwater / Waterproof Camera from S & J at Sunway Pyramid. I consider this as cheap because I have seen e-shops selling the exact same item for over RM50. Full House Restaurants sells for Rm75. This is the first time I write a review and eventhough I love cameras, I'm nowhere near professional, so please pardon my mistakes if I make any. The comments are very generic.

1. The counter is not accurate because I only took 3 pictures and it shows 6. If you have never used a film camera before, if you wind the film forward, the thumb-wheel freezes when it reaches the next frame. In order to unfreeze the wheel you have to press the shutter button (take a picture).

In this case, unlike the previous film cameras that I used before, the winding period takes very long. It takes muuuuchhhh longer with the clear casing on! If I were to bring it for theme park outing, I would have lost the moment that I want to capture and get a sore thumb instead.

2. The viewfinder is very clear. Obviously no fungus or haze as it is new. Whether the pictures come out exactly like what I saw in viewfinder is another thing. I will post the updates as soon as I get the film developed.

3. The lens is clear and looks promising. We shall see the result later.

The thumb-wheel stuck, I couldn't roll the film nor I can get the shutter button to work. Shucks. I went back for an exchange. The shopkeeper was very polite and friendly.

Canton-i When I'm Sick

I have been sick and feeling lethargic for few days so today I went to see the doctor. I'm diagnosed with food poisoning, She told me take bread and porridge only, strictly no milk! She prescribed 6 different medicines for me. What a life.

After the consultation I went to Canton-I for dinner. I had Boiled Peanuts (complimentary snack from the restaurant), Congee with Shredded Pork and Century Egg, Vegie Dumplings, and Soya Bean Milk for drinks. I didn't bring my camera with me and not in the mood to take pictures anyway in that condition. I will blog more about Canton-i in the near future. The bill was RM30.20. Expensive for a student with limited budget like me.

Capricciosa at Sunway Pyramid

Today I went to Capricciosa again with my brother (for the FIFTH TIME). I tried another few dishes but forgot to insert my memory card into the camera so I only get to take one picture of the dessert. =(

I've been to Capricciosa a few times and I found that they are the good with dishes that has to do with white creamy sauce (e.g. carbonara) and squid ink. I've tried another few types of spaghetti with "red sauce" such as bolognese and homemade sauce but I find them too salty to my liking and didn't manage to chow them all.

Homemade Tiramisu @ RM16.90 per serving

Taste
I like the tiramisu. Although it is not the best I have ever tasted, but it certainly is much better than those sold in other shops. The almonds are sliced thinly, making it very crispy and tasty at the same time sprinkled with chocolate powder. The cream is so soft and light but there is a strong taste of milk. The cake is fluffy and not overly sweet, just right.

Price
The size is approximately 10 x 10 x 7 cm. I think it is quite expensive at that size. I can buy two slices of cake at Coffee Bean or Secret Recipe. But of course... quality over quantity.

Service
I've been there a few times and I'd say the service is excellent! The waiters and waitresses are very polite, friendly and helpful. Good quality control too as the manager will approach you (just like what happened this evening) to ask whether you are satisfied with the food and service. They always wear a BIG SMILE. =)
