Durians from Jusco

Today I went to my tutorial class as usual... no actually I went to the wrong tutorial class and sat there for the whole one hour because it's of the same subject. Then I went to Sunway Pyramid with Silvia to shop for groceries; durians, a pack of milo and PalmOlive body soap.

50% so I only paid for RM20

Silvia bought them in the evening for RM28 (30% discount) =(

When I bit the thin skin that wraps the flesh... the creamy flesh burst out! They were very sweet, soft and creamy! It was heaven for few minutes <3

Will I buy again?

Yes but not so soon. Quite expensive you know.

35mm Underwater Camera Short Review

Price: RM29.90

Today I bought a 35mm Underwater / Waterproof Camera from S & J at Sunway Pyramid. I consider this as cheap because I have seen e-shops selling the exact same item for over RM50. Full House Restaurants sells for Rm75. This is the first time I write a review and eventhough I love cameras, I'm nowhere near professional, so please pardon my mistakes if I make any. The comments are very generic.

* Thumb-Wheel Film Advance System
* Wrist Strap Included
* Detachable Waterproof Casing

1. The counter is not accurate because I only took 3 pictures and it shows 6. If you have never used a film camera before, if you wind the film forward, the thumb-wheel freezes when it reaches the next frame. In order to unfreeze the wheel you have to press the shutter button (take a picture).

In this case, unlike the previous film cameras that I used before, the winding period takes very long. It takes muuuuchhhh longer with the clear casing on! If I were to bring it for theme park outing, I would have lost the moment that I want to capture and get a sore thumb instead.

2. The viewfinder is very clear. Obviously no fungus or haze as it is new. Whether the pictures come out exactly like what I saw in viewfinder is another thing. I will post the updates as soon as I get the film developed.

3. The lens is clear and looks promising. We shall see the result later.

The thumb-wheel stuck, I couldn't roll the film nor I can get the shutter button to work. Shucks. I went back for an exchange. The shopkeeper was very polite and friendly.

Canton-i When I'm Sick

I have been sick and feeling lethargic for few days so today I went to see the doctor. I'm diagnosed with food poisoning, She told me take bread and porridge only, strictly no milk! She prescribed 6 different medicines for me. What a life.

After the consultation I went to Canton-I for dinner. I had Boiled Peanuts (complimentary snack from the restaurant), Congee with Shredded Pork and Century Egg, Vegie Dumplings, and Soya Bean Milk for drinks. I didn't bring my camera with me and not in the mood to take pictures anyway in that condition. I will blog more about Canton-i in the near future. The bill was RM30.20. Expensive for a student with limited budget like me.

Capricciosa at Sunway Pyramid

Today I went to Capricciosa again with my brother (for the FIFTH TIME). I tried another few dishes but forgot to insert my memory card into the camera so I only get to take one picture of the dessert. =(

I've been to Capricciosa a few times and I found that they are the good with dishes that has to do with white creamy sauce (e.g. carbonara) and squid ink. I've tried another few types of spaghetti with "red sauce" such as bolognese and homemade sauce but I find them too salty to my liking and didn't manage to chow them all.

Homemade Tiramisu @ RM16.90 per serving

Taste
I like the tiramisu. Although it is not the best I have ever tasted, but it certainly is much better than those sold in other shops. The almonds are sliced thinly, making it very crispy and tasty at the same time sprinkled with chocolate powder. The cream is so soft and light but there is a strong taste of milk. The cake is fluffy and not overly sweet, just right.

Price
The size is approximately 10 x 10 x 7 cm. I think it is quite expensive at that size. I can buy two slices of cake at Coffee Bean or Secret Recipe. But of course... quality over quantity.

Service
I've been there a few times and I'd say the service is excellent! The waiters and waitresses are very polite, friendly and helpful. Good quality control too as the manager will approach you (just like what happened this evening) to ask whether you are satisfied with the food and service. They always wear a BIG SMILE. =)

14 April 2011 Update:

I'm fine. Everything is great now. I thank God for what i have now. After all, things can only get better and better right? ;) I learned some lessons which are:

1. Grab the opportunity when you can before it's too late.

2. Do not give and and be SENSIBLY persistent.

3. Do not afraid to try something new because a wonderful adventure is waiting.

4. Your most precious people are those who brace thins and (especially) thicks, together with you, cherish them.

5. Being patient and praying do have benefits, really .

6. If you've tried your hardest and it's still beyond your control, que sera sera... things will eventually get better.

7. In my opinion, the saying "Time will heal you." does not work for me at all. Its you and you only that decides whether you are allowing yourself to heal or not.

8. Not bottling up my problems and thoughts, sharing with people I trust and getting their insights are the best things I had done.

I went through a difficult phase in my personal life and currently emerged as a winner. I will not elaborate about what happened but I hope the lessons I shared can inspire you too even by the slightest bit. You can ask me questions if you want =) Blogging is therapeutic.

It has been months since I last posted something on this blog. I have been busy with myself, friends and other activities. I'm not a consistent blogger but it doesn't matter. I still love this blog. Good news is that I am taking part-time job which means I have a little more ncome. Nevertheless, my income is much lower than my expenses =(

We went to KLCC Aquaria the other day. The wonders of marine creatures excite me. Sadly, she didn't feel the same way. She got bored looking at fish just in few minutes and had to wait for me as I was busy snapping pictures.
